I purchased this book to find out more about Quinoa as my husband and I are vegetarians and my husband is also diabetic. We wanted to find another plant-based high protein source.I was pleasantly surprised from the beginning at the tone of the book - great information about the many benefits of Quinoa based on the author's personal experiences. So many similar books I have read lately just recite dry, nutritional data that one can find easily enough online and maybe a couple of "how to cook with this" suggestions.
This book, however, is lively, interesting and inspires the reader to take action and start cooking with the really versatile recipes included. The same day I purchased the book, I made my first Quinoa recipe for dinner using the recipe for "burgers" - really delicious!
Although the recipes are mostly vegetarian, they can easily be converted to vegan by using egg substitutes.
Highly recommended.

Easy Quinoa Recipes edition by Nicolette Goff Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks Reviews
I loved the two recipes that I tried so far. I tried a quinoa salad and the gluten free chocolate cake. My dinner guests and I loved the taste. I loved how simple the recipes were. No strange ingredients. I had most on hand.
This is the perfect starter cook book for someone new to quinoa, like I am. I was told about it and it's nutritional value by my nephew who is a vegetarian. I bought some and then realized that I had no clue what to do with it. This book is informative and gives a good variety of recipes from salads to main courses and even a cake recipe!. Enough to get anyone interested in making it a regular part of your diet.
My husband and I tried quinoa many years ago when we began our journey to eating healthier. Didn't understand the benefits of it at all. Now thanks to this book, I am ready to start again. I loved finding out about the history in the beginning of the book. The author followed up with some creative and tasty sounding recipes. I will be heading to the health food store this week and experimenting with some of these recipes. GREAT addition for our library.
This simple little quinoa cookbook is perfect to get started. After reading through it and scrolling through the recipes, I headed to the kitchen and cooked up a batch of quinoa. I didn't know what I was going to make with it, but I knew I had to have some in the refrigerator ready to go. Now that my fridge is stocked, I'm ready to experiment, and this cookbook has just enough recipes to get acquainted with this 'super food.' Scrambled eggs, cold salads, casseroles, soups, and even desserts - I think I can find plenty of reasons to keep quinoa in my kitchen.
I haven't tried any of the other recipes but 2 of my favourite foods are quinoa and chocolate and this combined in this recipe is the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted. Plus it's gluten free so all my family can eat it and the extra protein is always good for us as we're vegetarians.
It's really easy though does use a blender, I tried it without blending and it was still just as yummy for us all except my husband who preferred the smoother texture.
It cuts well, stores well and I'm just about to go and make more to take to friends.
I have not been able to try all the recipes in this book yet, but most of them sound very appetizing per the ingredients list. I did try the warm and nutty cinnamon quinoa and it was delicious. I was not aware that you can eat quinoa as a breakfast. The best part was that this breakfast lasted me better than any other breakfast without snacking in between breakfast and lunch. I have learned to love quinoa going on about two years now and this book is a great addition to explore more and different breakfast options.
Being someone who has done a lot of cooking with different grains, nuts, and seeds, I'd forgotten about this little gem. When I saw this book available for sale, I decided to get reacquainted.
The author does a great job of explaining the nutritional information about quinoa, the best ways to cook it, and the versatility of this food.
The first recipe section I went to was the one labeled, "Quinoa Dessert." The chocolate cake recipe that is gluten-free will be perfect for me to make the next time my granddaughter comes for a visit.
